AUGUST 24 – Burgundy Part 1. EXPLORING THE RED WINES OF BURGUNDY from South to North.
Increase your learning curve or start it right here!
Take a trip with Huon Hooke up the length of Burgundy’s legendary Côte d’Or.
Taste red Burgundies from every major village, from south to north, and savour their differences. We’ll start in the Côte Chalonnaise with Mercurey, and move north through Monthélie, Volnay, Pommard, Beaune, Corton, Nuits-St-Georges, Vosne-Romanée, Clos Vougeot and climax with Chambolle-Musigny and Gevrey-Chambertin.
Discover the glories of pinot noir grown in its home soil, and learn about the differences in terroir, the soil, aspect, exposure, altitude and meso-climate that give each village’s wines their distinctiveness.
The 12 wines will be mostly premier crus and some grand crus, all from top producers.
