Burgundy produces the most wines on planet Earth, the benchmarks to which all other regions aspire.
Take a trip with me through Burgundy and discover the legendary white wines of the Côte de Beaune, Chablis, the Mâconnais and Côte Chalonnaise. Taste white Burgundies from every major village, from south to north, and savour their differences. We’ll start in the Mâconnais with a Pouilly-Fuissé, and the Côte Chalonnaise with a Rully or Givry, and move north through the Côte de Beaune villages of Chassagne-Montrachet, Puligny-Montrachet and Meursault, and finally to Chablis, the most delicate of all chardonnays.
Discover the glories of chardonnay grown in its native soil, and learn about the differences in terroir: the soil, aspect, exposure, altitude and meso-climate that give each region and village’s wines their distinctiveness.
The 12 wines will be mostly premier crus and some grand crus, all from top producers. Light food will be served.
