2015-07-17 14.42.03The 20th Boutique Wine Awards – Another Fine Success.

New Zealand’s Mount Brown Estates Grand Reserve Pinot Noir 2013 took home a bag of trophies winning for Pinot Noir, Red Wine of Show, Estate Grown and Produced and the top gong Wine of Show.

10% of the entries come from New Zealand and the judges awarded 15 trophies, 43 Gold medals, 106 silver medals and 336 bronze medals from the 1000 entries.

Chairman Huon Hooke said that ‘the high level of trophies was possibly in part a tribute to the recent run of successful vintages”. Hooke congratulated the Association on its 20th Anniversary and said that “the 20th Boutique Wine Awards was another fine success”.

White Wine of Show, the Max Lake Memorial Trophy was won for the second consecutive year by Western Australia’s Geograph winemaker Darryn Rigg for his 52stones Barrel Select Chardonnay 2014.

The trophies were presented by Huon Hooke at a Celebration lunch on Friday 17 July at Doltone House Sydney.
