Chaine Hotel D?AngleterreLa Chaîne des Rôtisseurs International Jeunes Sommeliers Competition 2015

The Association of Australian Boutique Winemakers is pleased to continue its ongoing lead sponsorship of La Chaîne des Rôtisseurs International Jeunes Sommeliers Competition. This sponsorship is particularly pertinent, first given the success of the Australian representative at the international 2104 finals. Pier-Alexis Soulier, who won first place after two days of gruelling competition and secondly because the 2015 international finals will be held in Australia in Adelaide in September.

There are three stages in the competition:

1.    Regional competitions to be held in Queensland, NSW, Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia in May 2015 – this is a written exam

2.    The winners of the regional competitions will be invited to participate in the Australian National Competition to be held on 22 June 2015 at the InterContinental Hotel. Macquarie Street Sydney

3.    The winner of the Australian National competition will be invited to participate in the International Competition to be held in Adelaide 23-25 September 2015.

The National and International finals include a written theory test, a spirits identification, wine identification and service tests. The competition is based on the Court of Master Sommeliers procedures.

The International competition will be judged by an international panel chaired by Brian Juylan MS, Officier Maître Sommelier, La Chaîne and Chief Executive, Court of Master Sommeliers.
